Acid Tin Plating

This process is a pollution friendly process that has little concern regarding either air or water pollution.
Our proprietary process, when recently tested for salt spray results by automotive on fuel rail applications, rendered in excess of 1,000 hours salt spray (.001" thick tin). Other competitive processes, such as Duplex Electrolytic Nickel Zinc Plating, Zinc Plating, Electroless Nickel Plating, and several other alternative treatments, failed salt spray tests under 600 hours.

Our proprietary process bath formula consists of Stannous Tin Metal, Sulfuric Acid, Basic Tine #1, #2, and #3, and two other proprietary additives.  Empire's Bright Tin process is applied at room temperature, utilizing low current voltage. Process bath high purity level is maintained via pre-plate extensive cleaning methods and use of anode bags.

Empire's proprietary Tin Process withstands high operating and use temperatures, offers excellent adhesion to the treated base metal, and renders frictional improvement during plated surface to metal sliding wear contact.

When considering corrosion resistant plating types for applications, keep in mind Tin's excellent qualities along with its pollution friendly status.  While all other plating types will face added costs of improved pollution controls and waste haul-away in the future, Acid Tin will not face such disadvantages.
